This summer's research project is one of great significance to my personal growth, which is mainly reflected in two aspects. One perspective is from people. Prof. Moore's research experience and his teachings made me feel how important it is to have perseverance and a humble heart to do research. When I learned that Prof. Moore had been working on this project for three years, he told me that this project might be done for at least another two years, and he also told me that his last project had been studied for nine years. I am very surprised because it is hard for me to believe one person can insist on one thing for more than a year, let alone three, five, or nine years. When I asked him what supported him to insist on academic research for such a long time, he told me that academic research to solve academic problems makes him feel he contributes to humanity and society, which makes him reflect on his life value. When he told me this, my admiration for Prof. Moore came from the bottom of my heart, not only because of his unremitting determination to work, but also his dedication to caring about the world. Simultaneously, in the process of cooperating with colleagues and learning from each other, I realized that the collision of different ways of thinking could continuously stimulate new ideas and breakthrough difficulties. Our research team has five people, two from the business school and three from the political and science school. Although our research is mainly related to the global economy, whenever we encounter a problem that cannot be solved with a business perspective, students from the School of Political Science use the perspective of geopolitics to analyze the situation soon our problem is easily solved. A diversified group's advantage is that it can analyze and solve any issues through multiple thinking models. Second, my abilities have been exercised and improved in this research process in many aspects, such as reading ability, analytical ability, and summarizing ability. The long-term collection of data, reading industry reports and databases is a process that helps me improve my reading ability. Because English is not my native language, this has also become a good opportunity for me to keep learning accumulating new words. After this summer, I felt that my English had been greatly improved. After collecting relevant materials, analyzing the data, and summarizing it into a more concise and accurate report is the most critical step in academic research. This allows me to create sharp insights when screening materials and help me unfold net-like thoughts through tree-like syntax in the linear text when summarizing. These abilities will become my core competitiveness in the future, whether I am doing academic research or entering the workplace.

Suppose I have the opportunity to research this project again in the future. In that case, I will make more efforts to improve my initiative, take the initiative to strive for more work tasks, and take more responsibilities. Because in this experience, I think the only shortcoming of what I did is that I did not contribute enough to this project. For example, every time Prof. Moore releases additional and voluntary work assignments. While I am still thinking about whether I should accept them, other team members will be one step ahead of me to express their willingness to accept the assignments. Even if I complete the work that belongs to my responsibility every time, if I can get some extra tasks more actively, I can show my capabilities and have more opportunities to exercise my abilities. Therefore, whether I will do research for this project again or go to the workplace in the future, I must learn to take the initiative to strive for more opportunities for tasks.
