UFP Honor Seminar - Cryptocurrency and Blockchain

Through a semester of hard work, I not only learned a lot of interesting knowledge of cryptocurrency and NFT, but also established a deep friendship with the professor and my classmates. What impressed me most, were three different takeaways. First, by inviting Guest Speakers to talk to us about their companies real-life ransomware attacks, the professor made me aware of the growing role cybersecurity is playing in the business world. At the same time, it also inspires me to engage in risk management in this specific field in the future, because my major is Enterprise Risk Management. The second is to understand what NFT is and its application and investment value. NFT technology is an essential technology to support the virtual world. Its principle is to protect the uniqueness and rarity of virtual goods, so as to reflect their transaction value in the virtual world. Applications of NFT technology include NFT games, NFT art collections, and NFT Finance. In my final group project, I conducted market research and analysis on these NFT application products and found that their application has huge investment value. Finally, the most important asset that this course brings to me is that I realize the benefits of teamwork and realize the importance of teamwork. In daily life, I love study independently. Because I think it's more efficient and flexible to work alone. However, after the final group project of this course, I realized that completing tasks through group cooperation would make us better prepared and achieve higher completion. Of course, I had such a change of thought without the help and supervision of my team members. I still remember when I learned that our final group project was to analyze the market prospect of NFT, I felt a lot of pressure. At that time, there were only three members in my team, but the workload of this project was very heavy, and near the end of the semester, I also needed to prepare for the final exams of the other five courses. Therefore, I had no hope of getting a high score in this final project at that time. Fortunately, I met two teammates who were very motivated and hard-work. With their encouragement and constant urging, we not only finished the project before the deadline, but also rehearsed presentations for five times. Therefore, with sufficient preparation, our final project not only got the highest score, but also was publicly praised by the professor. The collaboration also deepened my personal relationship with my two teammates and allowed me to learn many good qualities from them. Last but not least, I want to thank the UC Honor Program and Prof. Jones for designing such an interesting and forward-looking course for UC students.

What I have uploaded below is my final group project -- NFT Market Structure Analysis. My experience in this project not only enabled me to learn about NFT technology, but also provide me a chance to explore many interesting NFT applications, such as NFT Gaming and Metaverse. More importantly, this experience helped me unlock my imagination of the future world and realize the importance of technological innovation in the future. With the development of blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, NFT technology and more, the virtual world we saw in science fiction movies like Avatar and the Matrix when I was a kid will soon appear in our real world. The emergence and development of these new technologies will lead humanity into a higher dimensional world and also help expand our knowledge boundaries.
