LEADERSHAPE

Before I entered college, I felt like many people that leadership had nothing to do with me. At the same time, there are many misunderstandings about leadership. For example, I simply thought that a leader is a person leading a team to do something, and that leadership is a person's job. However, l experience held in the honors program of my university, I have a deeper understanding of leadership. This experience was held jointly by Leadershape Institute and University of Cincinnati Honors Program. It aims to engage in a relational process that involves creating a Shared vision, developing goals, and motivating individuals or groups towards the achievements of those goals. A total of 38 honored students participated in it for seven days. During the seven days' study, I not only gained valuable friendship but also opened my eyes and truly understood the significance of learning leadership. I summarized three of my new understandings of leadership. First, leadership is an interdisciplinary mental model. I used to think that leadership was just a business school discipline. Many entrepreneurs or managers qualify as leaders. However, that's not the case. It's learning that I understand that leadership is not a discipline, it's a core subject across the social sciences, and it provides us with an interdisciplinary mental model. Leadership is interdisciplinary wisdom, not a single discipline of knowledge. Another new insight is that leadership can help us take on greater responsibility. In my opinion, the more responsibility a person bears, the faster he can realize his life value. Many people think that I am not a manager and I don't need to learn leadership, but the truth is that leadership is not about a person's position, it's about preparing us for greater responsibility and realizing our life value as soon as possible. A more important understanding is that leadership is about solving problems, including solving organizational problems, but also solving life problems. Whether we want to take on more responsibility or not; Whether we're in leadership positions or not; Whether we have our own team or not; I'm sure we don't feel like we don't need to solve problems anymore. Learning leadership is about solving life's challenges.
